Hello my name is Ashley Heard and I have a 2 years old boy named Dequan. When he was 1 years old I was a little worried about him talking, he wouldn’t say any new words just “dada”, or just point and say “mhm”. I asked his pediatrician about it and she recommended Now We’re Talking and connected me with Mrs. Dèsia.
When we first started with speech therapy my son was a little scared and not really interested. He would play with her and be interactive but wasn’t saying any new words. About 4-5 months in he started repeating words and being more interested. We are almost a year in and Dequan is now clearly saying his body parts and colors. He’s saying “mama” and he tells me when he’s ready to eat and more.
Dequan is saying more than I ever thought he would. He uses “My turn” a lot when he wants to play with something that I have. Mrs. Dèsia has helped Dequan come out of his shell and so much more.
